THE EDIT
These new paintings are some of the most personal I've ever made. They came out of a strange, surreal experience – filming Extraordinary Portraits, knowing that every word, every expression would be on camera, open to interpretation. I'm used to putting my work out there, but this was different. It wasn't just my paintings being seen – it was me.

Each piece is a close-up – a mouth mid-sentence, an eye in fleeting glance. They're about that feeling of being observed, caught in a moment you can't control. My work has always been about presence, about the way bodies exist in the world – but my experience of filming this show made me think about my own presence differently.
